During application, refrigerated truck bodies are often subjected to external forces, resulting in damage to the bodies. Especially when vehicles collide due to reasons such as passing through height limit poles, poor lighting, or unfamiliar road conditions, the refrigerated bodies can be damaged. So, what are the common damages and repair methods for refrigerated truck bodies?

1. Common types of damage to refrigerated truck bodies

The inner and outer skins of domestic refrigerated truck bodies are mostly made of fiberglass plates, with the middle layer primarily consisting of polyurethane insulation materials. Therefore, common damages to domestic refrigerated truck bodies include scratches and cracks on the inner and outer skins, damage to the insulation layer, and small-area peeling of the inner and outer skins.

II. Repair measures for several common damages to refrigerated truck bodies

(1) Repair of damaged insulation layer of refrigerated container body

Due to impacts or other reasons, the insulation layer may be damaged, which is highly likely to cause the refrigerated truckbody to lose its insulation performance. The most common method for repairing refrigerated truck involves cutting off the damaged part of the insulation layer in a small area, fabricating a polyurethane insulation material and fiberglass panel of the same size, covering the insulation material with fiberglass mat and applying unsaturated polyester adhesive, attaching the inner and outer fiberglass panels, placing them in the cut holes of the body panels, fixing them to the entire body panel with external force, and then grinding and painting them after about 1 to 2 hours when the adhesive has cured.

(2) Repair of scratches and cracks on the inner and outer skins of the refrigerated compartment

Scratches and cracks on the outer skin of the refrigerated body will directly affect the appearance of the body, while deep scratches and cracks on the inner skin of the refrigerated body may affect the insulation performance of the insulation body. The repair method for refrigerated truck maintenance is to first sand the scratches and cracks into a rough surface, then evenly apply the mixed putty on top, and after the putty dries, polish it **smooth**, and **spray paint** for treatment.
